Budgeting for Dental Health: Explore Implant-Supported Dentures
The first question we usually get when patients call our offices is, "What is the cost of a dental implant?" Cost is a more frequently asked question than post-operative pain or even procedure success rates!
We can understand! We, too, have families to support, and we know how difficult it can be to meet everyone's needs. However, dental implants may be less expensive than you think. So, before we get into the numbers, we'd like to encourage you to consider the cost of dental implants more of an investment than an expense.
Dental implants are a long-term investment.
Dental implants might appear to be prohibitively expensive, especially when compared to other tooth replacement options. However, the two alternatives, dentures and bridges, typically need to be repaired or replaced every 5 to 10 years. The cost of this routine maintenance may soon outweigh the cost of simply relying on implants, which can last a lifetime. They also keep your jawbone from deteriorating, which dentures and bridges cannot do.
Your face shape will change as your jaw deteriorates. You’ll begin to look older. Furthermore, your existing teeth will start to loosen. The jawbone is the structure that holds the roots of your teeth in place. You’ll lose your other teeth once it’s gone. Keeping your remaining teeth in your mouth is priceless. As a result, we encourage you to consider dental implants as an investment rather than an expense.
So, How Much Will My Dental Implant Cost?
First and foremost, each case is unique. Single dental implants, on the other hand, typically cost $2000 – $3000 per implant. Not per procedure, but rather per implant. Some patients will only require one implant, whereas others will require several because they are missing multiple teeth.
Note that this is only the cost of the dental implant. There are additional expenses to consider, such as:
- The crown (the tooth itself) can be made to order or purchased off the shelf.
- The adjoining (the part that connects the implant and the crown)
- The cost of extraction of a tooth and its roots
- The price of office visits.
- Pre-operative care
- Post-operative care
These additional costs can range between $1,500 and $3000, bringing the total cost of a single implant to between $3,500 and $6000.
Is there Insurance Coverage for Dental Implants?
The good news is that most dental insurance companies cover a portion of the cost of dental implants. However, insurance does not typically cover all expenses. So, you will most likely have to save some money before you can schedule your dental implant procedure, but not nearly as much as you would if you did not have insurance.
Furthermore, many of our patients take advantage of our ability to provide financing, which allows them to pay for their dental implants in a series of manageable monthly installments. We also offer patient financing via third-party organizations.
How to Calculate the Exact Costs of Dental Implants?
As previously stated, the complete teeth implant prices can vary greatly depending on the circumstances of each patient. For example, some patients will only require single implants, while others may require full arches. Furthermore, the physical characteristics of each patient’s mouth will influence the amount of work needed and, ultimately, the type and cost of the implants.
The best way to find out how much your implants will cost is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Adatrow. During the consultation, our doctor will use the 3D scan image to determine the density of the bone and whether you are a candidate for an immediate implant or if additional grafting is required before implant placement.
After your consultation, you’ll know what needs to be done and how much it will cost. If you require it, you will also be presented with our patient financing options.
